In May 2010 we successfully staged the first stand-alone photography auction in the country that included the estate of one of Australia’s most esteemed photographers, Wolfgang Sievers. The modestly estimated Sievers’ works were valued at $22,000 but realised an astonishing $192,000, setting numerous record prices for the artist.
More recently Leonard Joel was engaged to disperse The Dinesh Parekh Collection of International Photography, which realised $262,500.
Leonard Joel has seen an increased demand from both buyers and sellers of photography and now offers contemporary, modern and traditional Australian and International photographs on a quarterly basis in our Specialist Prints & Photography Auctions.
