Corporate Collection of Art Achieves 100% Sale Rate

On Thursday 24th October a Corporate Collection of Australian Art went under the hammer with great success. The room was at capacity with lots of new faces and competitive bidding on the phones meant that strong prices were realised across the board. With a sale rate of 100% by volume and 135% by value, the collection proved to have something for everyone.

89The auction got off to a great start with $1952 (IBP) achieved for the striking work by Bill Beavan (lot 3001), the highest price realised at auction in the last 20 years for the artist. The early work by Tim Storrier (lot 3042) sold in room for $7930 (IBP) and the large scale Clem Millward (lot 3044) achieved above the high estimate of $1600, selling for $2440 (IBP). With competitive bidding both in room and on the phone, the large work by Rubery Bennett (lot 3053) achieved $5856 (IBP) against a low end of $2,500.

This sale highlighted that the Thursday Antique and Interiors Auction is a highly successful format for single vendor collections. The art department are currently consigning for the Antique and Interiors Auction, by appointment on Mondays and Fridays.
