Dear Clients and Friends of Leonard Joel,

Melbourne’s Stage 4 lockdown requires us to make further significant changes to the way our team can do business with you. These changes we embrace wholeheartedly – both to continue to play our part in keeping Victorians safe and in an effort to avoid a period of business dormancy. Like many businesses, we are adapting by the day and are appreciative of your ongoing support and patience during these times while we refine our processes and systems.

Auctions & Bidding in Melbourne 
All of our Melbourne auctions will continue to take place online-only with no physical viewings or auction attendance. In Melbourne, we continue to offer our popular and trusted lowest bid guaranteed absentee bidding service and live online bidding, now with buyer’s premium parity.

Auctions & Bidding in Sydney 
We look forward to welcoming you to our Sydney showrooms for our first Important Jewels sale on 26 August 2020 where in-room, telephone, online and absentee bidding will all be available and now with buyer’s premium parity.

Client Services 
Effective immediately and for the foreseeable future, all Melbourne client management will take place by phone and email as most of our team will be working remotely. We look forward to speaking with you by phone, over email, and even a FaceTime chat or video call, but we strictly will not be able to attend to clients at the Leonard Joel saleroom in South Yarra.

Delivery to your door
All purchases from our online auctions must now be delivered by courier or authorised carriers to ensure no physical interaction with the public. Our decision to not offer a collection service at this time (known widely as “Click & Collect”) is because, in the interests of community safety, we wish to avoid this public process and enhance the safety of our online business model even further. To this end we have also developed a simple delivery service schedule for purchases which will be facilitated through our delivery and mailing services.

The following pricing applies for deliveries within a 10km radius of Leonard Joel South Yarra:
Small items: $22
Medium Items: $55
Large items: $110

Deliveries within a 20km radius of Leonard Joel:
Small items: $33
Medium items: $77
Large items: $165

POA for extra large items or delivery to regional Victoria. (All prices are GST inclusive)

All deliveries will be contactless and delivered to your front door or front of your apartment building (we cannot facilitate internal deliveries). For any enquiries about this service please contact delivery@leonardjoel.com.au

Delivery to our door
Equally, any private clients wishing to consign with us during this period must engage our designated new third party service, courier or authorised carrier, again, to ensure no physical interaction with the public. View our list of recommended carriers here. 

All payments from buyers and settlements to vendors during this time will be strictly online-only, via either EWAY or direct deposit.

Our team will still be available for virtual valuations, to advise you in real time what your piece or collection may be worth at auction. Please get in touch if you would like to schedule an appointment.

These are big changes we know, but they are changes that we embrace and we hope that you will also, as we strive to maintain Melbourne’s oldest and most trusted marketplace for the sale and purchase of all things great and small, while still playing our part in beating this virus.
